Come to us

Scripture Readings

Today, we come in humility and pray . . .

“Most merciful God we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbours as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent, for the sake of your Son Jesus Christ. Have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your name.”

Lord, you leave the 99

You seek us out

You save the sinner

You save the indebted

You save me

I claim nothing that is of my own doing to be admirable to you

You alone are my running payment

And I cannot repay you for any part of it

I fix my eyes on you

My sin is like a millstone

Forgive me of my debt to you

There is much when I think on it

I am indebted to you for life

O, God of mystery, you make known to me the path of life

You are always a God of life

You save in abundance

You turn your cheek, your face toward mine

Your justice triumphs by mercy, not my righteous anger

Forgive me, Lord

Help me to keep forgiving

The payment needed is all coming from you

Yours is a lavish abundance

For me

For all

Help me in my weakness to go and do likewise

Thanks be to God that the Narrow Gate is still wide open

Continue to build your Church in us, on earth as it is in heaven

Come, Lord Jesus. Come today. Come to us still.

For the sake of Christ who loves us beyond measure

Amen.
